Nairobi Governor Johnson Johnson Sakaja has  today shared a meal and gave donations to the elderly in Mji Wa Huruma, a county facility in Karura Ward, Westlands.

The Governor donated various items including mattresses, blankets, cleaning materials, personal items, and food stuff.

He assured the senior citizens on his support to improve the facility including the completion of the perimeter wall and improving the grounds.

The Governor also officially opened the newly renovated kitchen by CPF  and meet some of the care givers who assist at the facility.

“I’m happy to see senior citizens who are full of energy and life. We are here to show gratitude to our senior citizens and I promise my administration will give you its full support including ensuring the home gets a perimeter wall and other resources needed for the operation,” Governor Sakaja said.

Mji Wa Huruma is a County facility founded in 1968. It is home to about 50 senior citizens.

The lunch is part of the Governor’s annual Christmas activities. Last week he hosted over 500 children in Central Park for a Christmas Party.

He was accompanied by members of the executive and assembly including the area MCA Hon. Kamau Thuo Member, Karura Ward.
