Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has asked the Senate to summon the Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director General Mohammed Badi and Acting Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu over the status of the new Dandora Stadium.
Speaking in the Senate Sakaja stated that he wants Badi and Kananu to give a full report of the stadium, the costs incurred in its construction and the date for opening.
According to Sakaja his efforts to have Badi and Kananu to have the stadium completed have not been fruitful.
“I took time and spoke to the Director General of NMS I have spoken to the Nairobi County Acting Governor and they have all give lip service because the young people of Dandora were going to storm the stadium and open it themselves,” said Sakaja.

The stadium was set to be completed in 24 months and almost three years later, the stadium is yet to be completed.

A section of agitated youth wanted to storm the stadium some time back but were blocked after dialogue with the senator.
