Sakaja’s Blueprint For Managing Nairobi If Elected Governor

Nairobi County Gubernatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja has revealed his plan to manage Nairobi and ensure efficient service delivery.

According to Sakaja he will divide Nairobi into four boroughs of Nairobi East, South, west and North.

Sakaja says that he will then appoint city managers who will deal with specific needs of the four boroughs.

“You need to have four boroughs, Nairobi North, East, South and West. Thereafter I will appoint city managers for each of those boroughs… so you will know the person who will be ion charge of those boroughs, my work will be just to drive and when I see garbage, I wiil just say ni huyu,” said Sakaja.

Sakaja who believes that Nairobi can collect over Ksh. 50 Billion in one financial year says that with proper budgeting and management of the funds, Nairobi will work.

“Unless you have stepped down accountability and you have taken devolution one step lower and have those managers who have no interest in politics, there work is to just work and I have told you we can get up to Ksh. 50 Billion in this city. Nairobi will work and once Nairobi works, Kenya will work,” he said.

Opinion polls have Sakaja as Nairobi’s favourite candidate. The latest polls conducted by TIFA indicate that Sakaja is leading the pack of aspiring governors by 23 percent of the votes.
