Over 130 SDA church elders drawn from the larger central region on Sunday came out to strongly condemn their church leadership for not taking action against one of their senior pastors who allegedly had an affair with an elder’s wife.
The elders claim that even after the Pastor and the woman confessed to the affair.
The SDA Church Manual requires such a situation to be handled by the church board for disciplinary cases.
They claim that some of their own are being threatened by the church leadership for confronting and taking action against the pastor.
It is alleged that the perpetrator who was a pastor in one of their churches in Thika had a three year affair with an elder’s wife.
Through Lawyer Danstan Omari, they want to stop the arrest and prosecution of three elders including elder whose wife was having an affair with the pastor.
The elders claim that they have Mpesa statements showing that the pastor had sent money to the elder’s wife for over two years.
