Schools to re-open next week on Monday

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has announced the re-opening of public and private schools after six months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement today Prof. Magoha said the progressive re-opening will begin with students in Grade 4, Class Eight and Form Four who are expected back to school from Monday, October 12.

Magoha said the schools will then close on December 23, 2020, for a one week break.

Class Eight and Form Four students will sit their KCPE and KCSE exams in March 2021.

According to an exam calendar released by the Ministry of Education, the KCPE exam will be conducted for three days between March 22-March 24, 2021 while the Form Four candidates are set to write their KCSE test from March 25- April 16, 2021.
