Search mounted for fisherman who drowned in Lake Victoria
Officials from Kenya Coast guards and Fishermen based in Kisumu have mounted search for bodies of two fishermen who drowned on Monday morning at Rari beach in Kisumu West.
The two victims aged 19 and 20 respectively were said to be among nine fishermen who had boarded the boat for a test ride.
It is reported that the journey was smooth as the fishermen admired their new machine, however, for some metres from the shore, the boat almost capsized as powerful tides rocked it.
The two later fell into the water during the tides with other sevens holding on to the new vessels.

Kisumu County Commander Samuel Anampiu confirmed the incident and said the search for bodies is ongoing.
He said that the a new boat engine was brought at the beach and several fishermen opted to have a test ride on the boat before the incident happened.
The later boarded it to enjoy how it feel with the new engine.
