Self-Confessed Serial Killer Masten wanjala Killed By Village Mates
Self-confessed serial killer Masten Wanjala was this morning killed by irate mob at Mukheweya village, bungoma County.
According North Bukusu area chief Bonface Ndieira, Wanjala was spotted by children who were going to school in the morning who then raised the alarm.
Wanjala is said to have fled to his native land days after he escaped from police cells in Nairobi.
Chief Boniface Ndiera confirmed that the suspect tried to escape the public but ended up locking himself in someone’s house.
The mob that was baying for his blood immediately pulled him out of the house and beat him to death.
” Today morning at around 6 am, I received a call from a member of the public that Masten Wanjala was seen by children who were going to school. Since this is his native land, the children knew him, they ran to police station and reported the case,” said Chief Ndiera.
“At same time, Masten too started fleeing for his life. Members of the public followed him and he ended up locking himself in someone’s house where he was attacked and killed,” he further states.
Police had to shoot in the air to disperse the angry mob that was still gathered at the scene of crime.
Bungoma Assistant County Commissioner Cornelius Nyaribau has also confirmed the incident.
The body has been moved to the mortuary.
