History Of Friendship
AY and Mwana Fa’s friendship dates back to the early 2000’s when the duo was part of the East Coast Team led by Crazy Gk.
The group was a powerhouse of hip hop music back then and gave immense contribution to songs like Ama zangu ama zao and Komaa Nao among others.Upon the group’s death, Despite AY and Mwana Fa starting their solo careers they have maintained ties by working on collaborations overtime.
What makes the duo stand out is the ability to educate masses through their lyrics,an artist is the society’s mirror and should lead by example in advocating for what is right by offering guidance.
This is evident in Mwana Fa’s ‘Gwiji’ song in which he raps on not giving up however tough it may be. “Naota ndoto hazina rangi naamka nazipaka, watoto wa kiswazi hawawezi wakatuweka mipaka Mungu ndio ametaka jongoo ukawa nyoka hakuna kiunzi hatuwezi ruka, tushasukuma sana milango iliyoandikwa vuta niamini na inafunguka, mbwa mkali usikatize, wahuni tunapita tunavuka kwa Kamba madaraja yalovunjika”.
Indeed good music will last forever, AY and Mwana Fa’s friendship teaches us to be true to each other always.
