Single mother appeals for help to clear son’s Form 1 admission fee

A family in Mabatini, Lucky Summer Estate is seeking for financial help to raise school for their first born son.

Clifford Omondi who scored 362 marks from New Starlight Primary School in Ngomongo was forced to join Elite Secondary school in Kiambu after losing his chance at Dagoretti High School over lack of school fees.

Omondi’s mother Evelyne Auma who is a single mother of six says that she was forced to take her son to Elite Secondary School which is cheaper compared to Dagoretti High School.

According to Auma, she is still unable to raise the Ksh 30,000 to keep Clifford in the school he joined.

“The church did a small fundraising and we managed to get Ksh. 5,000 and he was able to join Elite school in Kiambu County contrary to the school he was called to that is Dagoretti High School. The total school fees at Elite is Ksh. 30,000 but we only managed to pay the Ksh. 5,000 and some shopping,” said Auma.

Auma says that she lost her job due to job cuts, “I used to work as a garbage collector in a nearby dumping site but we were cut out due to the reduced work load.”

The single mother has appealed to well-wishers to help her raise money to sustain her son in school.

“I would like to ask any well-wisher to come out and help me because I have other children who I am looking after and depend on me on everything. I would also like to request for anyone with a business opportunity to at least offer me one. Currently I am washing clothes for people to help me sustain my family,” She added.
