CHOLERA IN KAYOLE
Six people have been admitted to the Mama Lucy Hospital following a cholera outbreak in Kayole’s Soweto area.
The six were reportedly admitted at the hospital between the period of Saturday and Monday.
Residents say the latest incident is that of a child aged three who was rushed to the hospital this morning.
Those who spoke to Ghetto radio News say that the victims must have contacted the disease from a burst sewer water flowing in the area.
“We suspect that the water here has been contaminated by the bursted sewer line in this area hence the illness,” said one of the residents.
Kenya Red Cross volunteers are currently in the area spraying the houses.
Nairobi Water and Sewerage officers are also on the ground trying to repair the broken sewer line.
