National Super league side Shabana team Manager Sam Elijah has attributed the good run of the team to the support from the fans.

Despite losing their midweek match against Kibera Black stars the team leads in the table standings.

Shabana’s nine match unbeaten run was put to an end by the Kibera Black Stars.

Baron Ochieng’s 62nd-minute goal gave Kibera Black Stars victory in the FKF National Super League match played at the Ligi Ndogo grounds.

The victory moves Black Stars into second with 20 points, five points behind league leaders Shabana.

“The players have really sacrificed a lot and in that regard it has led to goodwill from our fans who have been chipping in to finance the team, he said.

Shabana FC the pride of Kisii town was once one of the most popular teams in Kenya behind perennial rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards in the 80s.

The team was founded by Kisii based businessman Dogo Khan.
