Sonko allied MCAs fleeing Ukunda ahead of impeachment
All might not be well at Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s camp ahead of his impeachment with a section of elected ODM and Jubilee elected MCAs fleeing their Hideout at Ukunda Kwale to attend the impeachment debate at the assembly.
This may thwart his strategy of denying the assembly quorum to conduct today’s business.
“Yes we were directed to come back and we have obeyed that’s all,” one of the ODM MCA told Ghetto Radio News.
Lucky Summer MCA Fredrick Omondi Otieno is one of the MCAs who had travelled to Ukunda and have already jetted back to Nairobi.
ODM party officials also made a significant effort and met ODM MCAs at Gracia Hotel to seal the impeachment deal.
It is believed that ODM leader Raila Odinga and state house sanctioned Sonko ouster.
Meanwhile MCAs allied to the governor who are still at Ukunda have reported an attempt to hack their assembly zoom log in details by the assembly clerks.
“MCAs allied to Governor Mike Sonko have recorded statements at Kwale Police station under OB number 18/03/12/20 over attempted zoom account hacking. About 70 MCAs have vowed to defeat impeachment motion against Governor Sonko,” a statement from Sonko’s press team reads.
The impeachment motion debate is today 2.30 pm.
