Another supremacy battle between Starehe member of parliament Charles Njagua and Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is brewing with Njagua claiming that the ban on Boda boda within the CBD violates their rights.
Njagua who met the affected boda boda riders at parliament accused kanjos for undermining the livelihood of boda boda operators in the CBD.
According to the MP he will use all means possible including attending the stakeholder meeting slated on Monday to secure release of all motorbikes nabbed by askaris in the last two weeks.
Meanwhile the county government through Inspetorate director Peter Mbaya maintains that no boda boda operator will be allowed in the CBD.
The county government has directed boda bodas not to pass Globe Cinema,University Way,Uhuru High way,Haile Sellasie Avenue and Racecourse road.
On March 26th this year the High Court dismissed a case by Njagua challenging the Nairobi County Government’s decision to ban boda bodas from accessing the Central Business District.
