Ngei MCA Redson Otieno Onyango now wants Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and Speaker Beatrice Elachi to shun dirty politics and jointly fight the corona pandemic saying the county is lagging behind in the fight against the deadly virus.
In an interview with Ghetto Radio News, The MCA says the political war between the two leaders has led some MCAs to be branded ‘Sonko’s team’ while those who are supporting Elachi are believed to be supporting general Mohammed Badi of Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
‘‘The fight between Sonko and the Speaker have greatly affected our co-operation in the fight against Covid 19 and we must rethink ..if Sonko gives you support you are branded sycophant yet the mwananchi on the ground needs services ..i mean we must change.’’ He said.
He however, applauded Sonko, Unicef and others who have come on board to help Ngei residents in fighting the pandemic.
‘‘In Ngei we are grateful for donations we received from Sonko, tank from Unicef and others who have helped us to remain alive in the fight against covid 19.’’ He said.
