Sonko Fails To Appear In Court, Says He Is Still Sick
Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko’s assault case has been moved to January 21, 2020 after he failed to appear before a Voi Law Court.
Sonko’s lawyers told the court that the governor is still unwell.
Sonko is facing charges of assault and resisting arrest.
In a Charge Sheet dated December 9, Sonko is being accused of kicking Coast Regional Boss Rashid Yakubu in the thigh while resisting arrest.
Several Nairobi County MCAs had traveled to Voi and were at the law courts in support of the embattled governor.
