Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has launched an operation to flush out street children from the Central Business Distict.
The operation which kicked off last night saw several street children bundled out of the CBD into county council vans.
Sonko says the street children who majority are addicted to drugs will be taken to rehabilitation centers and rescue centers.
Sonko says the swoop will be conducted by the The Nairobi City County Government, Environment Rapid Response Team.
“The rescued street children will receive treatment of their addiction in our rehabilitation centers as well as get life skills including enrolling them back in school. The initiative to rehabilitate street children will be continuous under my administration,” stated.
