Sonko Locks Horns With MCA Over Bursary Theft Claims
Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has locked horns with Kitisuru Member of County Assembly Alvin PalaPala over revived bursary theft allegations.
Palapala is apparently one of the MCAs in Sonko’s list who reportedly misused bursaries.
The MCA is accusing the governor of using media outlets to taint his image.
An article published today in one of the local dailies implicated the MCA , Kobudho Education Centre and minority leader David Mberia’s personal assistant.
According to the article the EACC sleuths were narrowing down into the individuals mentioned but according to the MCA the case was dropped by the Director of Public Prosecutions for lack of enough evidence to stand prosecution.
‘‘Sonko is now using media to intimidate me because have been critical of his leadership ..but i will not stop ,one person cannot go around threatening everyone because he is the governor..i don’t sign any bursary cheques,’’Palapala said.
In 2018 the two leaders crossed each other’s lane over the same and at some point Sonko threatened to collect signatures to recall the MCA whom he accused of stealing the bursary funds.
Palapala says the gloves are off and ready to face the governor head-on.
