Sonko seeks help of Nairobi residents on how to tackle street children menace

Majority of street families in Nairobi are from Nakuru County, governor Mike Sonko has revealed.

Sonko says an investigation conducted by his office has revealed that almost all street children in Nairobi come from outside the county.

Sonko says Nakuru County is leading with a big number of street children who come to Nairobi intentionally.

The governor is now asking for help from the electorates on what to do with the street children in case rehabilitation centers in Nairobi become full.

Should he take them back to their countis or should he take them to the National Youth Service?

“Nairobians hebu munisaidie na maarifa incase hizi rehabs zetu zijae tufanye nini as we wait to do more rehabs A.Tuwaregeshe kwa county zao B. ) Wapelekwe NYS C). Any one above 18yrs sio street family tena E). Give your input,” stated Sonko.

The County government has been conducting a swoop on street children with those apprehended taken to rehabilitation and rescue centers.
