Sonko to spend two more nights in police cell

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko will spend two more nights in police cell pending his bail application. 

Was on Tuesday charged with 12 counts including assault, robbery with violence destruction of property and forced entry into a property in Buru buru estate.

Sonko however denied all the charges.

The prosecution accused him of assaulting Mr Alex Kioko and causing him bodily harm.

Other people Sonko is accused of assaulting include Musyoki Kavunda and John Mungai Wanjiru on the Buru buru property.

Sonko appeared before Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Ataambo.

The prosecution is seeking custodial orders to detain the former governor.

Sonko had presented himself at DCI headquarters for questioning yesterday where he was grilled for close to six hours.
