There was commotion on Wednesday evening at City Hall after an if-tar dinner organised by governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko yesterday backfired.

Organizers of the event seem not to have anticipated the huge turn out of Muslims at the event making them scramble for the little pilau that had been prepared.

The situation further persisted after Governor Mike Sonko’s handlers allegedly ran away with their Ksh. 1,000 transport reimbursement of the attendees.

Compared to last year the occasion was disorganised as section of  journalists  covering the event were also forced to remove their shoes before gaining  entry into Charter Hall.

At some moment the group scramble for ‘pilau’ as the catering head shouted for order.

‘‘We usirudi kwa line hapa mwondoke hapo mkishakula aihh [don’t go for more food get out of the line after serving]’’ Catering Head shouted.

After the scuffle they were addressed by the governor and Embakasi South member of parliament Julius Mawathe before the two retreated to Sonko’s Office.
