A South African MP who jetted into the country on Thursday has expressed shock over the expensive lifestyle Kenyan MPs are living.
Nqabayomzi Kwankwa who is also the UDM Deputy President and Chief Whip has expressed shock after he found out that Kenyan MPs have a driver, a body guard and a Personal Assistant, a researcher, a communications officer and an Administration Assistant.
Kwankwa says that in South Africa they have nothing close to that.
“Spending a day with Hon. Dr Mwaura today in Nairobi, I realized that I am an MP for a wrong country. MPs here have a driver, a body guard, a PA, a researcher, a communications officer & an admin assistant. . In SA, we fend for ourselves. We don’t even have PAs,” he tweeted.
Nkwakwa’s tweet was accompanied by a picture of him with Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura in a car.
The South African MP is apparently in the country for a FORB Leadership Network and Consultation Workshop in Nairobi.
“The discussions have so far been sober appraisals of FORB and other human rights challenges in East Africa and what Africa ought to do overcome them,” he tweeted.
