Speaker Mutura Fails To Take Oath As Acting Nairobi Governor
The swearing in of Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Ben Mutura as acting Nairobi governor has been postponed until further notice this is after justice Jairus Ngaah who was to preside over the exercise arrived at the venue late.
Jairus arrived at Cityhall at exactly 2.01 pm and after a long consultation assembly leadership and committee that was gazetted today morning ahead of the swearing-in ceremony agreed to put it off for another date.

According to the law the assumption of office by the governor should be conducted between 10.00am and 2.00 pm.
The committee chairperson Justus Kathenge who also doubles up as county secretary says the ceremony would be held at a later date.
‘‘Assumption of office committee was gazzeted this morning and we had a meeting and minutes but as we saying we are doing this in compliance with the law which says the oath or affirmation of a governor shall be administered not earlier than 10:00 am and not later than 2:00 pm,’’ Kathenge said.
