SportPesa CEO Promises To Build Roads In Kasarani, Donates Household Stuff To Fire Victims

SportPesa CEO and Kasarani Constituency parliamentary seat aspirant Ronald Karauri has pledged to improve infrastructure in Kasarani if elected MP in the August 9 General Elections.

Karauri says access roads will help avert and also improve response to fire incidences in areas like Gatworo slums.

Speaking while donated goods worth hundreds of thousands to families left homeless after a fire incident burnt down their homes Kararuri stated that the Gatworo fire incident would have been avoided with proper infrastructure.

“Ruai ward is very big. As it is, it is actually very hard for firefighters to even access this place. If you look at the roads, they are not very good. So before even talk about firefighters we will have to ensure that they have good accessible roads,” stated Karauri.

Everline OSide a victim of the fire says that she lost everything in the fire incident and was not able to salvage anything.

“My name is Everline Oside. I hawk chips by the roadside. I was informed about the fire incident after it had already started and by the time I came here, everything had been burnt down,” stated Oside.

Karauri donated blankets, food stuff and other household stuff to the over 30 families whose houses were burnt.

He also gave the victims money to cater for their one month rent as they rebuild their lives.
