MASA and Kiamaiko City had bounty harvest registering wins over their corresponding opponents on Saturday as the SportPesa Super 8 Premier League entered the 18th round.
MASA 3-1 MELTA KABIRIA
Robert Adede helped himself to a brace as Makongeni based MASA walloped Melta Kabiria 3-1 in an absorbing SportPesa Super 8 Premier League tie on Saturday 25 June at Nyayo National Stadium.
The resounding win for the Hassan Andale’s charges catapults them to fifth on the league table standings with 28 points while on the other end Melta, who are led by Shadrack Ateka are still searching for their first victory in the second leg of the competition now in the 18th round. They sit 11th with 18 points.
On a chilly and sullen afternoon, both sides were unable to crack each other in the opening stanza and it took the intervention of Elvis Ochieng to break the deadlock in the 48th minute to put MASA in control.
Adede then complimented his teammates effort in the 63rd minute by sweeping home a solo effort for the home team to enjoy a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The visiting West conference side gathered their littered composure and halved the deficit in the 71 minute through Dalton Musa who unleashed from long range.
With the prospects of a comeback Melta rolled pressure in vain as Adede completed his brace with less than seven minutes remaining on the clock for the insurance goal that guaranteed his side the maximum points.
KIAMAIKO CITY 1-0 SHAMAKO BABES
In another match, Ntagi netted the only goal of the match at the hour mark as Kiamaiko City defeated basement side Shamako Babes 1-0 at Huruma grounds.
By taking the spoils, Kiamaiko remain at 14th with 16 points whilst Shamako are still languishing at the tail end of the grid with a paltry 5 points.
