According to court documents, the teacher allegedly pulled the pupil’s left ear during a lesson, leading to visible injuries that required medical attention and ongoing follow-up care.
The family’s lawyer, Wycliffe Nyabuto, described the teacher’s conduct as intentional and harmful and has called on the court to prohibit the teacher from working in any educational institution in Kenya.

In a letter dated March 25, 2025, the school’s Chief Principal, Mr. James Ogweno, acknowledged the incident and expressed regret. The school pledged support for the pupil, including access to counseling services to aid her emotional recovery.
“As part of our support efforts, we would like to offer her an opportunity to speak with a qualified counselor,” reads the letter.
