There is a standoff at the Kenya National Union of Teachers headquarters after a group of leaders opposing current KNUT Boss Wilson Sossion was locked of the KNUT offices.
The faction led by current KNUT Deputy Secretary General Hezborn Otieno was locked out of the office early morning by private security guards manning the building.
In an exclusive interview with Ghetto Radio Otieno says claims that they have been locked out to stop a meeting of the KNUT National Executive Council that was to sanction elections from happening.
“It is messy they hired goons to block us, the national executive council cannot sit to sanction election dates. This is what Sossion fears most,” he said.
Otieno further accused Sossion of running the Union with an iron fist.
Sossion is facing off with current Chairman Collins Oyuu in the forthcoming elections.
While in Kitale over the weekend Sossion said the voting process will be manual and not virtual as speculated earlier.
Meanwhile our efforts to reach him over the standoff at the headquarters remain futile.
