Starlets Confident about winning against Algeria

Starlets playing against Masinde Muliro University of Science And Technology in Friendlies at Kasarani.

With the second round of the 10th edition of Africa Women Cup of Nations Cameroon 2016 qualifiers match against Algeria approaching, The Kenya National women football team Harambee Starlets are confident they are headed for a win.

The Starlets thrashed Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology 6-0 in a friendly match Tuesday at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.

The National team head coach David Ouma told Ghetto radio that the Starlets are well prepared for the clash that is set for Friday 8th April.

“With the efforts we have put in improving the fitness level, am confident that we have the big opportunity to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nation” says Ouma after the match.

“Winning against Masinde Muliro University only shows that my girls are motivated and are ready for the big match, I only have to check if the Starlets played properly in relation to the match against Algeria” added Coach Ouma

Algeria on the other hand played against Ethiopia beating them 2-1 in aggregate booking a place with Kenya.

Corazon Aquino who is the youngest in Coach Ouma’s squad has been given her debut call to the national team.

“I thank th coach for giving me this opportunity because playing for the National team is a previledge”say Corazon.

The ex-Olympic High School midfielder has also been drafted into the Kenya Homeless Street World Cup team.

Starlets will be leaving for Algiers Wednesday 6th April.

Other second leg fixtures, Tunisia will take on Ghana, Senegal will play against Nigeria, Rio Summer Games bound Zimbabwe will face off neighbours Zambia in another qualifier while Mali will entertain Equatorial Guinea with Egypt set to face Ivory Coast
