Starlets drew 1-1 in Nairobi and face daunting task in Botswana

The race towards securing a place in the Caf Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024 will be concluded this week.

Between December 4th and 5th, there will be a total of 22 teams participating.

Harambee Starlets coach Beldine Odemba named 23 players as part of the travelling team for their second-leg fixture against Botswana set for December 5, in Gaborone.

There will be nine matches set to be held on Tuesday.

The starlets went on a draw 1-1 last week and failed to maximize their home advantage. They will be making their second appearance in the WAFCO 2024 only if they emerge winners of the two legged qualifier.

Starlets left for Botswana on Sunday and will be expected back home on Wednesday.

The defending champions, South Africa have it all to do against Burkina Faso at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the nation’s capital after being held to a 1-1 draw away from home.

Algeria is still enjoying their lead with a 5-1 first-leg win over Burundi who play host to the North African side on the eastern part of the continent on Monday.

Equatorial Guinea travel to DR Congo after they were held to a 1-1 draw to set up what will be an action-packed return leg.

Namibia will have a really hard nut to crack facing Ghana who overcame them 3-1 in the first leg.
