Starlets set to face Algiers


Starlets 2National women coach David Ouma has maintained the same team that played against Algeria for Tuesday’s return match of the Africa Women’s Nations Cup at Kasarani.

Coach Ouma was impressed by the Starlets’ performance of the team in Algiers last Friday where Kenya battled to a 2-2 draw to bring the team to touching distance of a first ever qualification to the continental showpiece in its history

Samantha Akinyi a student at Kenya Methodist University (KEMU), will start in goal and will get cover from Elizabeth Ambogo, Wendy Achieng, Irene Awuor and Nixon Dorcas.

In midfield, Mithuka Martha Karimi will feature alongside Carolyne Anyango and Tabaka Chacha with Jereko Adam and Kinuthia Wanjiku looking for goals. Coach David Ouma said he was happy with the effort put in by the players last Friday and is hoping for a better performance in the return match.
