Central Organisation of Trade Union Secretary General Franics Atwoli has slammed Deputy president William Ruto over his Hustler Nation movement saying the slogan is a mockery to poor families.
According to Atwoli the Deputy President should not define Kenyans with the hustler word saying its generally means a gambler.
‘‘A hustler in simple words is a gambler or a game player who seeks out challengers especially amateur ones in order to win money from them and at some point it means a male prostitute why do you want to be associated with such a name when this man owns five choppers and every empty spaces in this republic?’’ Atwoli said.
A part from politics the top trade unionist further took issues with the government and particularly Teachers Service Commission for withholding Kenya Nation Union Of Teachers dues and even the transfer of members register.
Atwoli accused TSC of trying to kill KNUT over its hard stance on labour issues.
‘‘We want TSC to give KNUT their subscriptions and to revert back the membership register failure to which we shall recommend to the president a possible sacking of this officials who do not want to follow the law,’’ he added.
Atwoli was flagged by various union bosses where they also discussed upcoming COTU elections.
