Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has asked Deputy President William Ruto to stop pushing footballer McDonald Mariga to vie for the Kibra Parliamentary seat.
Kuria has asked Ruto to instead let Mariga focus on growing local football talents.
“Let Macdonald Mariga spend time to grow our football and our talents. Siasa itakuwepo leo, kesho na mtondogoo,” stated Kuria.
“Let the young man be. He will live to join this silly, dirty game of politics another day,” he further stated.
Mariga was handed the Jubilee ticket yesterday after the party conducted a series of interviews at the party’s headquarters.
The football star and former Harambee Stars player however denied being pushed by Ruto to vie for Kibra adding that his decision to vie was informed by his want to give back to the society.
