“It is with mutual agreement that we have decided to part ways with our head coach, Sammy Okoth, and goalkeeper trainer, Collins Oduor,” part of the statement read.
“As a club, we deeply value and appreciate the significant contributions and unwavering dedication they have exhibited throughout their tenure with our organisation. We extend our heartfelt best wishes for their future endeavors,”
Interestingly, Okoth had resigned just a week before the decision to let him go, following a tough 4-0 defeat against Ulinzi Stars. However, he was reinstated in time for the Gor Mahia game, which they also lost 1-0.
“Everything didn’t go right and it is very unfortunate it happened this way. I am not okay with whatever happened and I feel I should let go at the moment and I should just relax and let someone else come and do the job,” the coach said after the game with ulinzi stars where they were beaten 4-0.
In the absence of Okoth, Oscar Kambona, who is the deputy coach, has now been elevated to handle the team on an interim basis.

During Okoth’s tenure, Shabana FC managed to secure just one victory against Tusker, drawing five matches and losing four.
