Police officers today saved four suspected thugs from an angry mob baying for their blood outside Pioneer building in Nairobi’s CBD.
The thugs who include three men and were woman were being stoned by an angry for allegedly stealing Ksh. 320,000 from a member of the public.
Angry residents who cornered the suspects threw stones at the thugs who at that point seemed helpless.
“Mwizi lazima auawe, mwizi lazima auawe,” the angry mob shouted.
Police had to shoot in the air in a bid to scatter the angry mob.
But even after shooting in the air, some members of the public continued to hurl huge stones at the suspected thugs.
Elswhere Detectives based at Langata have arrested three armed suspects, in connection with a robbery incident in Hardy, Karen.
This follows a report made by a victim who was robbed by the suspects some two days ago.
The trio all aged between 21 and 23 then fled the scene on a motorbike, leaving the panic stricken woman lying on the ground.
A combined team of officers from Langata and Dagoretti launched a manhunt for the suspects and at the crack of dawn today, arrested the 3 of them in Kawangware.
