Suspended Isiah Kiplagat dies at 72
Suspended Athletics Kenya President Isaiah Kiplagat passed away on Wednesday at his Nairobi home. He was 72 and died after a long battle with cancer.
Kiplagat who joined Athletics Kenya when he was appointed the Vice Chairman four decades ago led the Association to be the richest and most successful in the country.
Kiplagat took over the leadership of the Association in 1992 and in his tenure he got things running under the right direction. He is described as no-nonsense who served the federation with strictness but with passion for development.
Kiplagat was suspended alongside his two colleagues David Okeyo and Joseph Kinyua in November Last year for allegedly subverting anti-doping processes and potentially diverting sponsorship funds from Nike.
