Tangatanga MPs in a scuffle with police in Msambweni by election – VIDEO

Fracas ensued today morning in Msambweni as Tangatanga affiliated MPs clashed with police officers.

The scuffle allegedly started when a police officer attempted to arrest Lungalunga MP Khatib Mwashetani.

Mwashetani was however defended by his fellow MPs Oscar Sudi of Kapseret and Mohamed Ali of Nyali.

Ali confronted the police asking them to stop taking sides while handling the by election.

“Who is complaining, you seem to have taken sides, we are all grown up, we are all equal,” said Ali.

Earlier, another mayhem was witnessed at the Mwaroni Polling station but the police quickly moved in and restored order.

The mayhem was allegedly caused by some voters who tried to disrupt the voting exercise but police restored order.

ODM candidate Omar Boga cast his vote at the Jogoo Polling station in Bongwe Gombato Ward.

The aspirant cast his vote at around 8 am.

Independent candidate Feisal Bader cast his vote at Gazi Polling Station.

He was accompanied by Nyali MP Mohamed Ali, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, among other Tangatanga affiliated MPs.

Boga and Independent candidate Feisal Bader held heated campaign that saw coast governors Hassan Joho and Salim Mvurya go head to head.

Bader has been enjoying the support of Tangatanga affiliated MPs who literally camped in Msambweni to campaign for him.

So far no incidents have been reported in the voting process.
