Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu can now breath a sigh of relief after the Tanzanian Film Board lifted a ban imposed on her acting career late last year.
The ban had been put in place after a public outcry by Tanzanians who saw Wema’s leaked sex tape as pure disgust.
Speaking in a presser on Tuesday, February 19, in Dar Es Salaam, TFB Secretary General Joyce Fisso said the board lifted the ban after the actress delivered on 75% of what was demanded of her.
Fisso also added that Wema had shown much improvement improvement as far as decency is concerned.
”We did not lift the ban because we pity her, we allowed her to continue working because she did about 75% of what we wanted her to do before allowing her back,” Fisso said
The ban which was imposed in October last year barred the actress from taking part in any artistic works in the country after her bedroom photos ignited mixed reactions among online users.
