The police had filed application seeking orders to hold the respondents to allow them conclude investigations.

The document filed by the police revealed ongoing investigations on robbery, arson and vandalism related offenses.

The application by the police were however declined by the defense lawyers.

The lawyers submitted that the police had failed to tender a holding charge or exhibits of the alleged items recovered from the suspects.

The presiding magistrate Gilbert Shikwe agreed with the defense team and directed the suspects be freed on ksh 5000 plus one contact person.

In his ruling the magistrate noted that the police had not tender sufficient reason to warrant detention of the suspects

The magistrate also directed the suspects with visible injuries treated.

The matter will be mentioned on 9th July.
