The Teachers Service Commission has defended the on going teachers recruitment exercise saying it is free and fair.
According to Teachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia the exercise that concludes today has been done with high standard of professionalism and those who will get chance will be on merit.
“As you may be also be aware we are currently recruiting 30,000 teachers and the interviews for those shortlisted are set to be concluded today paving the way for the posting of successful is our intention to have the new recruits join the payroll on January 30th the same day when the Junior secondary school learners report to their respective schools.” She said.

“I wish to thank our stakeholders especially the president for giving us the 30,000 teachers in exercise which have not done for quite along time. I want to assure everyone one that this exercise was conducted professionally while complying with the values and principles of the constitution.” She stated.

Macharia further added that the commission has slated the placement of the new teachers by end of January.
Macharia was speaking during the release of 2022 KCSE results at KNEC headquarter Nairobi .
