Estates in Nairobi to experience water shutdown

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced water interruption in several city estates from Wednesday 6 am to Thursday 6 am.

The water interruption is occasioned by the move to upgrade the Uthiru Pumps and Dagoretti pumps.

“Shutdown is to facilitate upgrading of the Uthiru Pumps and Dagoretti pumps suctions. The pumping station situated ate Kabete Water Works is  being upgraded to pump additional water to Karen, Riruta, Satelite, Kawangware and Uthiru areas among others,” the notice reads.

Areas along Naivasha Road that are set to be affected include, Riruta, Kawangware and Dagoretti Corner.

Langata Estate, Makadara Estate, KWS, Langata Barracks are also some of the estates along Ngong’ Road that are set to be affected.

Some of Kenya’s top institutions including Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi Hospital and KEMRI are also set to be affected.

“We strongly advise our esteemed customers to reserve and use water sparingly before and during the period of interruption. Any inconvenience is highly regretted,” reads the notice.
