The SDG Village is focused on conversations around the United Nations’ current developmental goals and how they can be locally implemented

Speaking to Ghetto radio News Rachael Mwikali  ,National convener, co-founder coalition for Human Rights Defenders Kenya and youth sounding board member for Royal Danish Embassy Kenya ,  says they are at the fore front in educating citizens on  economic justice with a focus on SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth

‘We are working on improving  citizens’ understanding of governance and socio-economic issues and who and which institutions they should hold accountable for the realization of the development agenda’’ Said Rachael

More than 50 members of coalition for grassroots human rights defenders who are working on economic justice  participated in the peoples dialogue  2024 with  a main objective of holding duty bearers accountable in ensuring that systems are put in place on socio-economic rights to protect women from being violated and exploited.

Joseph Kimani Njuguna  working with Denmark Embassy In Kenya as programs manager on Democratic Governance says they are focused on working with young people across the country

Additionally he says Denmark Embassy has a team of 9 board members who act as advisory members ,

The Youth Village

The Youth Village  specifically for young people aged between 18 and 35 years. Its main purpose is to provide a space for individuals in this age group to share their experiences, showcase their work, and inspire each other.

The Youth Village provides a unique opportunity for young people to engage in robust discussions on a variety of subjects, including political participation, economic debt, social accountability, and technology. These discussions aim to improve their civic competence and help them to hold relevant institutions accountable.
