Diana Chepkemoi, the lady who was detained in Saudi Arabia has revealed that there are many Kenyan girls who are suffering in Saudi Arabia.
Chepkemoi who landed safely at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) this afternoon says that she was just lucky that her case was picked up by several people.
“I’m pleading with the government to come in and rescue the rest of the girls back there. There are many girls suffering there. I was just lucky that my case was heard,” said Chepkemoi.
The former student at the Meru University mentions that she felt so powerless being told that nobody would hop in to rescue her from her situation.
“It was such a shame to be told that neither I nor my government could get me out of that horrible situation,” she adds.
Emotions ran high at the airport as her family received one of their kin back home at the JKIA.
“I left Kenya for Saudi Arabia with hopes of a better life. To be honest mine was just the tip of an iceberg since there are several more suffering back there,” she says.
Her family, had on Saturday appealed for assistance from the government to bring her back home after photos of her looking emaciated was shared on social media leading to the outcry of Kenyans on social media demanding for her release.
