President William Ruto in a firm address today declared his determination to prevent any further anti-government opposition protests scheduled for next week

Speaking in Naivasha, the President expressed his resolve not to allow Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga to conduct the destructive protests from Wednesday to Friday over the cost of living

“Raila Odinga, I won’t allow you to seek power on the back of the blood of Kenyans. I will stop you,”he said.

Ruto’s utterances comes shortly after the opposition through its twitter handle announced their plans to stage demos next week.

No Retreat, No Surrender Azimio declares on Demos

“Mimi nataka niwaulize munataka tuendelee na hii maaandamano? mimi nataka niwaambie maandamano haiwezi tena kufanyika katika hili taifa letu , hiyo wanasema Wednesday ,hiyo maandamano haiwezekani,”

This announcement followed a series of protests earlier this week, which resulted in tragic consequences.

The demonstrations, held on Wednesday, witnessed nine deaths across the country and caused significant damage to the recently constructed Nairobi expressway, which was vandalized by protesters.
