Three police officers working within Nairobi county have tested positive for COVID-19.
Citizen Digital has reported that the three officers who have been part of the team involved in contact tracing, tested positive on Friday.
Nairobi county Police Commander Philip Ndolo said the first two officers were found to have contracted the virus when they went for a check up and were later isolated at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital where they are being monitored.
The third one also went voluntarily to the Mbagathi Hospital to confirm his status where he tested positive. He was isolated at the same facility.
According to the City police boss has said families of the affected officers have moved into mandatory self-quarantine at their places of residence.
On Friday, 117 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Kenya bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4,374.
