Four more suspects have been arrested by officers from the DCI in connection with 72 million ATM heist Nairobi West that occurred early this month in what is suspected be a well choreographed scheme.
In a statement, DCI boss George Kinoti says Simon Gichui, Florence Karuku and Caroline Waithera are from the national police service and Corporal-Eunice Wangari of Kenya Defence Forces.
‘‘Constables; Simon Gichui, Florence Karuku & Caroline Waithera & Corporal-Eunice Wangari were last night arrested by Detectives in Connection with the ATM Heist at Nairobi West. A motor vehicle suspected to be proceeds of the crime kept as Exhibit.’’ Read the statement.
Robbers posing as police officers on September 5th stole Sh72 million from Standard Chartered bank’s Nairobi West branch.
They are expected in court any time once the investigations are complete.
On Monday last week, police arrested a G4S employee and Sh1 million was recovered buried in a cowshed in Lurambi, Kakamega county, the suspect Bernard Sewanga, had gone into hiding.
