Two suspected thugs were on Thursday lynched by an angry mob for allegedly kidnapping an elderly woman in Mua, Machakos County.
The two suspects had allegedly kidnapped Veronica Kiilu from a Bank in Machakos town.
According to the police, the suspect seem to have been targeting Ksh. 500,000 that had been withdrawn by the woman’s husband from the bank.
“Ksh150.000 of the funds were used to pay a Machakos-based lawyer for an unspecified assignment,” the police report says.
The thugs then waylaid the woman in a taxi she had boarded to an unspecified destination.
“They bundled her into the back seat of the getaway car and sped off, towards Muthwani shopping centre,” the police report states.
The criminals reportedly robbed the woman of the remaining Ksh. 350,000 before abandoning her, according to the detectives.
