Top 4 Candidates From Kiboro Primary In Mathare Get Sponsorships

At least four candidates from Kiboro Primary School in Mathare slums who performed well in the 2020 KCPE exams have won secondary school sponsorships from an NGO.

Hatua NGO has pledged to educate the four pupils for their entire secondary school education.

The school’s top candidate Austine Mieso had in a past candidate expressed fear of missing out on secondary education due to lack of school fee.

Mieso had scored 412 marks out of a possible 500.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, Kiboro Primary School Senior teacher Beatrice Sombe described the partnership as timely since most of them needed the sponsorship.

“We have one of our sponsors known as Hatua who came and volunteered to sponsor the boy from form one to form four and also took the best four and agreed to sponsor them for their secondary education,” said ”Sombe.

“We would also like to thank Ghetto Radio for their continuous support in highlighting our stories,” he stated.

Mieso lives with his brother who is a casual labourer in the sprawling slums of Mathere.

Starehe Boys Center has so far expressed interest in admitting the top boy and girl from the school.
