Tragedy Strikes at Ariana Grande’s Manchester Concert


At least twenty two people lost their lives and fifty others injured in an explosion at Ariana Grande’s pop concert in Manchester,England.
Some witnesses described hearing a huge bang shortly after 10.30pm at the entrance to the Arena as thousands of people were leaving the Arena after the pop singers performance while other witnesses described seeing smoke and smelling burning in the foyer.

The attack is said to have been orchestrated by a lone suicide bomber and is alleged to be a member of the Islamic state supporters after they took to social media to celebrate the attack. However the suspect’s name is yet to be released to the public.

Many international leaders have addressed the attack on teenagers. Malcolm Turnbull, the Australian prime minister, called the blast an “attack on innocents”
“This is an attack on innocents. Surely there is no crime more reprehensible than the murder of children. This is a direct and brutal attack on young people everywhere, on freedom everywhere,” He said.

The entertainment world has come together on social media to offer their sympathies to the victims of the attack. Singer Katy Perry said she is praying for everyone who attended the show while one direction’s Harry Style said on twitter that he is heartbroken over what happened in Manchester and that he is sending love to all those involved.

The singer says that she is broken about the incident that occurred at her concert and wishes those that were injured a quick recovery and also condoled with the families of those who lost their lives.
