Transport in Githurai 45 was interrupted this morning after residents took to the streets to protest against the poor state of road that was constructed in 2016.

The protesting residents lit tyres on the road blocking matatus from using the road from 6.30 in the morning saying the constructor did a shoddy job.

Those who spoke to Ghetto Radio News say they want the county government to compel the constructor who constructed the road to do it again.

“This road is hampering our movements massively. We are getting home late, our businesses are delayed and so we want immediate solution from the county government.” said Wachira Nyagah one of the organizers of the protests.

“This road cost millions of shillings last when it was constructed last year, right now it looks like a garden,” they added.

Motorists plying the road  also say the poor roads have affected their operations and damaged their cars.
