Transport Paralyzed In Mwiki, Kasarani As Matatu Operators Lay Protests

Public transport has been paralyzed in Mwiki, Kasarani after matatu operators closed roads in protest of the poor state of the Kasarani, Mwiki Road.

The protests have not only affected public transport vehicles but private cars have also been blocked from using the roads.

The operators lit tyres on the roads as early as 5 am, demanding that the road be repaired.

School children who had woken up early to attend classes remained stranded on the roads as heavy rains continued pounding on them.

The Kasarani Mwiki road had been fixed by former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero after protests from the same operators.

The contractor seemingly did a shoddy job as barely three years after the construction, the road got back to its dilapidated state.
