Two children stranded with mother’s body finally receive help
Two children in Humama slums in Komarock who had been left stranded with their mother’s body have finally received help.
Officers from the children’s department swung into action immediately after Ghetto Radio aired the children’s plight and helped them.
The children officers took the minors who were aged 14 and six years to a children’s home in the area.
Their mother’s body was also released from the city mortuary and buried in Lang’ata.
According to neighbours the deceased had no relative as she was only staying with her two daughters.
“The girls’ mother died in the house, so as neighbours we offered to take her to the mortuary since we tried to look for their relatives to no success,” said a neighbour.
The matter had been complicated by a move by one of the resident who booked the body at City mortuary with his details as husband but later disappeared making it difficult to get the body out of the morgue.
